Who is she?

Angela Thompson grew up in small town Augusta, Kansas where she participated in community theatre as well as educational theatre up until she graduated with honors from Augusta High School in 2013. After that she headed to Butler Community College on a Vocal Music scholarship where she was a member Butler A Capella, a collegiate a capella group directed by Matthew Udland who was also her vocal coach for her two years attending.

She was not only involved in the vocal music department at Butler Community College, Angela also participated in the musicals each year (GODSPELL, URINETOWN) as well as acting as the official vocalist for the show band at BCC performing songs by artists such as Christina Aguilera, Amy Winehouse, Bonnie Rait, Aretha Franklin, and many others. In May, Angela graduated with an Associates degree in Music and she was set to attend to the University of Kansas to double major in Music Therapy and Vocal Performance.

        The summer before her fall semester at the University of Kansas, Angela was cast as Martha Dunnstock in the Midwest Regional Premiere of HEATHERS. Getting to perform for such a receptive and eager crowd ignited her passion for performance and ultimately lead to her transfer to Wichita State University in the Spring to pursue a BFA Performing Arts, Musical Theatre, Music Minor.

While attending Wichita State University, Angela had the opportunity to participate in both performance as well as costume design. Her work at Wichita State University included an Irene Ryan Nomination for her portrayal of Sister Mary Patrick(SISTER ACT), two costume designs, 1 being Nationally recognized(STATES OF HAPPINESS), and finishing her final year as Marmee March(LITTLE WOMEN). Angela graduated May 2018 with her BFA in Musical Theatre after receiving a Senior Honors award in Artistic/Creative Achievement. After spending a summer in South Dakota working for Prairie Repertory Theatre on productions of THE LITTLE MERMAID, FOX ON THE FAIRWAY, and TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE, Angela moved to Memphis,TN! While in Memphis, she had the opportunity to work with Playhouse on the Square in a production of HEAD OVER HEELS follow by some high intensity productions of JUNIE B JONES and SCHOOL HOUSE ROCK LIVE!.
